hi guys,
my first article on my own blog. o.k lets's get back to the topic. do you think BPO's have proved to be a boon or bane to the teeming young lakhs of youngsters ? I believe bpo's have quenched (partially if not fully) India's insatiable thirst for employment. Thousands of youngsters incuding myself would have been sitting out waiting for that elusive GOVERNMENT job, that which every parent and would be in-law craves for. Of course no body would like to turn our faces off from a GOVT. job, but that doesn't mean we guys have to sit out doing nothing. I have seen my own friends attending coaaching classes, year after year in the hope that they would land the big fish one day or the other . They lose precious time i.e their youth and the opportunity to learn more skills. No, iam not against these guys's looking forward to government jobs as their career. but personally the logic works to be a little weird. Say for the IAS or the civil services there are 400 posts. The total no. of applicants turns out to be 3,00000 annually and this no. seems to increase every year. BPO'S do have their health and job risks but tell me which private sector industry doesn't have. They also provide the highest entry level pay packets. So the next time some oldie dares to speak about ill about a BPO don't just sulk and remain unresponsive.
